Our Story

Where Latermark Came From

Latermark was established in Bangkok after its founders spent years noticing a recurring frustration: most people approaching retirement age — whether Thai nationals or long-term expatriates — had very little reliable, impartial information available in plain English. What existed was either buried in government publications, scattered across financial-product brochures with obvious commercial intent, or locked behind expensive professional consultations.

The name Latermark is a quiet nod to the idea of leaving a clear mark on what comes later — understanding your options, knowing where your documents are, and feeling less unsettled about a topic that most people avoid until they cannot any more.

Our sessions are deliberately kept to a modest scale: small seminars, structured document-mapping workshops, and a year-round learning programme. None of these constitute financial or legal advice. Everything is general information, and we are very clear about that boundary at every step.

Mission & Values

What Guides Us

Information Should Be Accessible

Pension frameworks are complex, but they are not secret. We work to surface public information in a form that is clear and usable by anyone.

Honesty About Boundaries

We are not financial advisers, lawyers, or accountants. We say that clearly and often. Our role is to explain concepts and help with organisation — nothing more.

Respect for Privacy

Document sessions do not require you to share sensitive financial figures. We focus on structure and labelling — the goal is tidiness, not exposure.

Steady, Unhurried Learning

People absorb information differently. Our programmes are paced for reflection, not speed, and there is always an archive to return to.

How We Work

Our Standards

Regulatory Clarity

We never represent our services as financial advice, investment guidance, or legal counsel. Materials are reviewed for compliance with this boundary before publication.

Source Transparency

Every factual claim in our articles and sessions is drawn from publicly available government or institutional sources, which are cited in the materials.

Data Minimisation

We collect only the contact information needed to manage bookings. Document sessions do not require — and do not store — any financial figures.

Regular Content Review

Pension regulations and public-resource structures change. Our materials are reviewed and updated on a rolling basis so participants receive current information.

Participant Feedback Loop

Every session ends with a brief written review form. Feedback shapes the next iteration — content emphasis, pacing, and format are adjusted accordingly.

Clear Scope Statements

Every session begins with an explicit statement of what Latermark does and does not do. Participants know before we start what kind of organisation they are engaging with.

What We Bring

Understanding Pensions Without the Noise

Retirement systems in Thailand draw from multiple sources: the Social Security Fund for employees in the formal sector, the Government Pension Fund for civil servants, and occupational or personal savings arrangements for the self-employed and expatriates. For anyone managing assets across jurisdictions — or simply trying to understand what their employer has enrolled them in — the landscape can look confusing.

Latermark does not navigate that complexity on behalf of participants. What we do is describe how these frameworks are structured, explain the vocabulary that appears in official documents, and point people toward the relevant public resources where they can check their own position. That distinction matters: understanding a framework is quite different from receiving advice about it.

Our document-organisation work addresses a separate but related challenge. Many households have pension statements, contribution records, and employer correspondence scattered across emails, filing cabinets, and old hard drives. A systematic inventory — knowing what exists, where it is, and how it is labelled — saves considerable time and stress when documents are eventually needed. We provide templates and a guided session to help with exactly that.

The Annual Learning Companion is built for people who prefer to stay informed at a manageable pace. Pension regulations, contribution limits, and public fund structures are not static. Monthly articles and seasonal Q&A sessions help participants keep up with general developments without having to track multiple sources themselves.
