British expat, Bangkok — 19 May 2025

"The System Seminar was the first time I felt I actually understood what questions to ask about my UK pension while living here. The vocabulary section alone was worth the fee — I've been staring at the same terms for years without a clear explanation of what they meant in practice."

HR Manager, Bangkok — 5 May 2025

"Attended the Document Map session with my husband. The templates are genuinely useful — straightforward, editable, and covering categories I hadn't thought to keep separately. I would have liked a slightly longer Q&A section, but that's a minor point."

"Six months into the Annual Companion and I am genuinely still reading every article. The pace is right — one a month means I actually absorb it rather than skim it. The seasonal Q&A sessions have answered questions I didn't know I had."

Accountant, Bangkok — 14 May 2025

"I appreciated that Latermark is clear about what it is and isn't. Education, not advice. That made me more comfortable attending — I knew I wasn't going to be pushed toward anything. The seminar was well structured and the summary sheet has been useful to share with my parents."

"The Document Map session helped me finally sort through fifteen years of scattered paperwork. The folder templates aren't complicated — which is exactly what they should be. Would have valued a bit more coverage of digitisation options, but overall well worth the afternoon."

"I have been on the Annual Companion for almost a full year now. The discussion group is small enough to be useful — people actually share their thought process on public information rather than just asking for advice. The archiving means I can refer back to earlier articles when something in a current one connects."

Three Stories

Making Sense of Two Pension Systems

System Seminar → Annual Companion

Challenge

A British logistics professional, based in Bangkok for nine years, had contributions to both the UK State Pension and a previous employer scheme but had never reviewed either. The terminology in annual statements felt opaque, and she did not know which official channels to consult without engaging a paid adviser.

What Helped

The System Seminar gave her a working vocabulary and directed her to the relevant public resources for UK state pension forecasts. She later joined the Annual Companion to stay informed about general framework changes. No individual advice was involved at any stage.

Outcome

She was able to locate and review her own pension records using official portals and understood clearly what each statement referred to. She now describes the topic as something she can follow, even if she still works with a professional adviser for specific decisions.

"I feel like I can have an informed conversation now. That was all I was looking for."

Sorting a Decade of Mixed Records

Document Map & Folder Setup

Challenge

A Thai couple approaching retirement had more than ten years of employer correspondence, social security statements, and fund notifications spread across physical folders, scanned PDFs, and email attachments in various accounts. Neither knew exactly what they had or whether it was complete.

What Helped

The Document Map session walked them through a structured inventory exercise, category by category. Using the labelling templates, they created a consistent folder system for both physical and digital copies. The checklist helped them identify gaps in what they had stored.

Outcome

Within a few weeks of the session, they had consolidated their records into a single organised structure and made a list of documents they still needed to request. They described the result as significantly less stressful to look at.

"Just knowing where everything is makes a difference I didn't expect."

Staying Informed Without Feeling Overwhelmed

Annual Learning Companion

Challenge

An Australian teacher in her early fifties had a general interest in staying up to date on retirement topics but found available content either too product-focused or too overwhelming to read regularly. She wanted something structured and measured rather than a news feed.

What Helped

The Annual Companion's monthly cadence suited her. Articles were long enough to be substantive but short enough to read in an evening. She found the discussion group valuable for seeing how others were thinking through the same general topics.

Outcome

Over the course of nine months, she built up a picture of how superannuation and cross-border portability worked in general terms. She described herself as more confident in conversations with her own financial adviser, even though Latermark provided no advice itself.

"Monthly is the right pace. I actually read it rather than saving it for later."
